Alkaline Phosphatase
We have manufactured Alkaline Phosphatase (AP) Conjugated Oligonucleotides succesfully since 1994.
The probes are costumer designed oligo sequences, which are then RP-HPLC purified, before the conjugation with the AP-enzyme via a Disuccinimidyl suberate bridge. The final product is then purified via ion exchange HPLC.
AP-probes should not exceed 40 bases of length.
The delivered enzyme-oligonucleotide conjugate, contains no free enzyme, no free oligonucleotide and less than 25% enzyme oligonucleotide dimer complex.
0,2 nmol of AP-probe is sufficient for performing about 200-500 in situ hybridization experiments. Higher scales are available – see our pricelist for more info.
Please be aware that when designing the oligonucleotide sequence, it should be 25-36 bases long, avoid palindromes if possible. Also secondary or self complementary sequences longer than 4 bases and also dG stretches longer than 3 bases should be avoided.
Please note - the final purity is dependent on these above listed parameters.

The probes are currently being used by several highly esteemed laboratories, among others:
FDA in the USA:
- Rapid identification of Vibrio vulnificus
- Detection of the thermolabile hemolysin (tlh) gene of Vibrio parahaemolyticus
University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark:
- In situ hybridization of cytokine mRNA using alkaline phosphatase-labelled oligodeoxynucleotide probes.
